Our Lady Queen of Peace School in Northern New Jersey is a Catholic, parochial, elementary school imbued with the tradition of St. Francis and the gospel message of Jesus Christ. Our purpose is to educate the whole child: spiritually, academically, emotionally, physically, and socially - helping the child to become fully the person God intended him/her to be. We are committed to developing the student's understanding of Jesus' great commandment: Love of God and Love of Neighbor. Through our lifestyle and example, we strive to be instruments of peace and justice with all of God's people. Through our daily prayers and Christian example, we foster an atmosphere where each child's self-worth is valued and nurtured in the classroom and throughout the school.

PHILOSOPHY

Catholic education is an expression of the mission entrusted by Jesus to the Church He founded. The integration of religious truth and values distinguishes the Catholic school from other schools. At Our Lady Queen of Peace School, instruction in religious truth and values is an integral part of the school program. Our Lady Queen of Peace School is a place where the challenge of mind and personality engenders a positive self-concept and a shared responsibility for developing an appreciation of, and search for, further spiritual and academic knowledge. As a parish school working together for the common good of all, we believe that those involved: students, teachers, parents and administrators must earnestly desire to make our school a community of faith in order for us to realize our goals. Beyond their necessary professional credentials, our faculty is composed of dedicated teachers who have expressed their Christian vocation through the apostolate of Catholic education. The Education Council and the Home-School Association are invaluable facets of the school community. These two organizations serve in various capacities, and by their support and strength, translate goals into reality for the children of our school.
